JOURNALISTS TRACKED DOWN a BELARUSIAN SPY in POLAND

Aleksei Kucher, an officer of the Belarusian Border Guard Service, son of the former head of the military commissariat of the Hrodna region in Belarus and a graduate of the FSB Institute, suddenly became a Warsaw “businessman.” In 2015, he became famous in Hrodna for flying the flag of “Novorossiya” under the window of his car. That was the first time his name appeared in the media. In 2020, the KGB conducted an operation to whitewash him – a travel ban, and later Kucher allegedly resigned. In the fall of that year, he went to Warsaw. In March 2021, he began posting on Instagram in Polish. In May, he was allegedly stripped of his reserve captain’s rank by Lukashenko’s decree. Today, Kucher uses his official job as a cover – he is the head of the Polish company HUB Consulting, which deals with trade, construction, and marketing. Kucher’s wife graduated from a military academy in Warsaw. What tasks he was assigned by the KGB of Belarus in Poland is an unanswered question.
